Radio MANPASAND

Tadka Laga Ke !!

Dear All

Hope each one of you enjoyed the KAVYA SANDHYA organised by the HINDI SAMAJ OF CANBERRA on 5th July at the Theo Notaras Multicultural Centre. We had a good turnout and the audience enjoyed the function for over four hours. We could hear the roars of laughter and “wah-wah” well into the night, as the audience had been energised by the spicy dinner and snacks available as part of the complete experience.

The magical talents of the Kavis and Kaviyatris from Melbourne and Sydney, dancers and singers, created such an atmosphere that the audience could not find any excuse to leave the program early. We, from the core our hearts, like to thank each and every one who attended and/or participated in the “Kavya Sandhya”.

We are indebted to the Kavis and Kaviyatris from Melbourne and Sydney who took the effort to travel all the way to Canberra to warm us with their fine poetry in the chilly July weather.

Our special thanks and best wishes to the students of the Canberra Hindi School who thrilled the audience with their knowledge of Hindi. We also thank Dr. Abirami Yoganathan of Abinaya Dance Academy, for the excellent performance of classical Nritya by her students, and Gautam Thamo for his brilliance on the Tabla. Also, our thanks go to Shri Ravi Vaikyl and Shri Arun Basu for their "madhur sangeet".

We are also grateful to our sponsors: Treats of India, Kambah; Spice World, Phillip; Krisha Jilson’s Canberra School of Bollywood Dancing; Neeta’s Indian Cuisine; Therapeutic Massage Centre, Weston; HTCC, Florey and Radio Manpasand – Tadka Laga Ke !! for providing us their valuable support and giving away door prizes.

Nothing is more gratifying than knowing that the Community appreciated and enjoyed “Kavya Sandhya”.
We have received encouraging feedback in relation to this and here are a few of them Verbatim.

Bahut Bahut Dhanyawaad for all your love, support and encouragement !!

Warm Regards,

Hindi Samaj of Canberra

Dear Kishore & Manish Ji, Many thanks for giving me an opportunity to recite to Canberra audience and modify your program to suite my early leaving. I apologise that I have to leave the hall with out saying proper “Good bye” before leaving Canberra since both of you were busy. While a short visit I and my family felt home. If you have interaction with your audience in future, please convey my special regards to all of them. It is true that Canberra has a very good quality of the audience. Please keep in touch. Regards,

Abbas Raza Alvi

Kishorji, Namaskar, I would like to say thanks to you and to Manishji for organising the Kavya Sandhya in such an organised way that had all the ingredients to give the traditional flavour resulting into a good gathering of dedicated audience. It was well thought and was indeed a successful Kavya Sandhya.
Both you and Manishji deserve lot of thanks for it. In fact I was going to speak about it on the day but unfortunately, due to other commitments, had to leave early and missed the opportunity to express my self on this aspect.
Your presentation, including kaviyon ka parichaya, inviting them to sit on the manch one after the other and supplementary comments after each one finished on the mike, is praiseworthy but in the process I, and I am sure the others, were deprived of recital of poems by yourself.
Thanks for inviting to the occasion. As verbally advised, it would be good if a video could be made covering the event on 5th July that may be made available to all the interested ones with some fee that may also underpin your expenses on the day. Regards.

A quick note on the success of Kavya Sandhya. First and foremost I would like to extend my congratulations to you and the team, once again a brilliant evening. The pace, the flow, the quality of this evening clearly managed to surpass last years Kavya Sandhya. I do not have the words to express myself but the mix of comedy, seriousness, patriotism combined to produce a smorgus board of pleasure and joy, I hope you will extend my congratulations to the participants.

On another note the venue, the organisation and even the selection of the outlet delivering the food was exceptional. Please keep up the good work.

In parting a quick request to the community, please take the time to support these initiatives, apathy on our party will lead to the demise of all these activities. After all people organising these do it for us.

Keep up the good work guys. Regards,

Nikhil Saxena

Congratulations Hindi Samaj, for organising an excellent evening and bringing tons of laughter for a small cost. The Poets (Kavis) engaged the audience thoroughly through out the show with their wit, and humour. The other parts of the show which included cultural items and songs were also very entertaining. Good to see the whole program conducted in Hindi, including compering by Hindi School students. Keep it up !!

Deepak Raj Gupta

All in all the program was excellent and thoughtful, audiences were kept interested till the end. As experts say laughter is the best medicine certainly this was proved right on the evening. I wish Hindi Samaj my best wishes and congratulations on a successful programme. Hard work has been paid off. Kind Regards,

Kalpana Lakshman

The Kavya Sandhya event organized on the weekend was truly very entertaining. The event was well supported by the kids and credit goes to the organizers who organized such an excellent event. Our special thanks to all the participating Kavis who made the evening really hilarious. I will make special mention of our Kishore ji – who was a class act – both in poetry and compering. I look forward to the next Kavya Sandhya with interest.

Kavya Sandhya was very relishing with full of spicy flavours of India including food. Memories of the past Kavi Sammelan revived. We should organise this programme every year. Congratulations to Hindi Samaj on the great success.

Prabhat and Arti Nagaria

Kavya Sandhya was a very entertaining and thought provoking evening with the poetry recitals of some of the best hindi poets from around Australia. I especially liked the ghazal by Mr Abbas Alvi. Not only is he a very good poet but he is also a very good music composer.

Arunaditya Basu

Good, clean, simple and enjoyable program. Program itinerary was well thought off. Please emphasis to your listeners that you don't need to a scholar to appreciate the program. The MC was maintained the audience interest till the end. Only regret is that I could not translate this appreciation in Hindi.

Lakshman Krishnamurthy

Kavi Sammelan was a great program. Enjoyed every bit of it. The program was well organized too. I hope you keep doing it every year.
